Touch Walk, Participation, Edinburgh, NovΒ 2021
On our walk away from the environment, feeding back to each other we reflected upon how, when the blindfolds were removed, we felt as though the spaces we had been investigating through touch were different places when we could see them. We talked about the difference between moving and standing still, when we were blindfolded and moving it was as if moving through an empty abyss, but when we could touch something, we had context, but only very little, we couldn't tell how much context, where it ended. Most of us reflected upon how soft everything was, we had expected things to be rough and unconfutable. We also noticed that our perception of sound was altered, and this became a large part of the experience, it wasn't just about touch.
